Man arrested after suspicious death south of Williams Lake

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — A 23-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder following the suspicious death of a young woman in Esk’etemc, south of Williams Lake.
Williams Lake RCMP say Waylon Darian Harry was arrested inside the residence and remains in custody as his matter is before the courts. Police say the woman and Harry are believed to have been known to one another.
First responders attended on Monday (Dec. 20) and confirmed the death of a 19-year-old Indigenous woman.
Williams Lake RCMP units, along with Indigenous Policing Services, RCMP Forensic Identification Section, and North District Major Crime Unit are in contact the local government and continue to investigate the death along with the BC Coroners Service.
