Kamloops and many surrounding areas see increase in weekly COVID-19 cases

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops local health area (LHA) saw another increase in weekly COVID-19 cases and is up to an average daily rate of 10.1 to 15 per 100,000 population.

According to the latest data from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), Kamloops saw 158 new COVID-19 cases between Dec. 12 and Dec. 18, up by 20 from the previous week.

Every LHA surrounding Kamloops saw an increase in weekly cases besides Cariboo/Chilcotin, North Thompson, South Cariboo, and Armstong-Spallumcheen.

Here is a list of LHA totals in the Interior surrounding Kamloops:

  • Kamloops – 158 (up by 20 from last week)
  • Cariboo/Chilcotin – 89 (down by one)
  • North Thompson – five (unchanged)
  • 100 Mile House – seven (up by three)
  • South Cariboo – six (down by 17)
  • Lillooet – one (up by one)
  • Merritt – three (up by three)
  • Vernon – 60 (up by 14)
  • Armstrong-Spallumcheen – eight (down by five)
  • Enderby – 10 (up by five)
  • Salmon Arm – 35 (up by 10)
  • Revelstoke – 14 (up by 14)
  • Central Okanagan (Kelowna) – 191 (up by 46)
