KAMLOOPS — Ashcroft RCMP and Fire Department will drop the puck on a charity hockey game in support of the Lytton Fire Department to help rebuild the service to their community.

The RCMP and Fire Department will play their “Guns and Hoses” hockey game on Jan. 22, 2022, at Drylands Arena in Ashcroft. RCMP say the game will include a puck toss, split-prize draw, and raffle to raise funds for Lytton Fire Service after their station was lost in the late-June wildfire.

“The teams are raring to go up against each other this year,” Cst. Richard Wright, and head coach of the ‘Guns’ team, says. “Especially as we are engaging the community in support of rebuilding Lytton, which is such a worthy cause.”

The Ashcroft Firefighter Association is also accepting donations on behalf of Lytton Fire Service. Anyone wishing to donate can do so via e-transfer to ashcroftfirefightersassoc@gmail.com.
