Home damaged, but no one injured in Upper Sahali kitchen fire

KAMLOOPS — A kitchen caught on fire Saturday (Dec. 18) morning at a home on the 1900-block of Monteith Drive near Summit.

Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR) says there was extensive damage to the kitchen, flames emerging through the window, smoke damage throughout the house, and heat damage to the neighbouring house.

KFR adds neither of the two families were injured and Emergency Support Services is helping them with temporary housing until the house is safe to live in again. Three fire engines attended.

The fire is under investigation.
