Blazers fall to Cougars at home 5-2
KAMLOOPS — A pair of empty net goals made the score look more flattering for the road team, but the Kamloops Blazers still fell at home to the Prince George Cougars Friday (Dec. 17) 5-2.
The Blazers and Cougars traded goals in the first and second periods and were deadlocked at 2-2 going into the third. Craig Armstrong snuck the puck past Blazers goalie Dylan Ernst after being sprung on a breakaway by Riley Heidt to put the Cougars up for good.
The Blazers fell to 19-7-0 after going 5-5 in their last 10 games. However, they’re still first in the Western Hockey League B.C. Division with 38 points in 26 games.
The Blazers are back on the road Saturday (Dec. 18) against the Kelowna Rockets.
