Barriere emergency department closed Friday due to limited staffing

BARRIERE — Interior Health say the emergency department at the Barriere Health Centre will be closed today (Dec. 17) as a result of limited staffing levels.

The health authority says the emergency department will re-open on Monday (Dec. 20) at 8:30 a.m. The health centre is still open today for other services such as booked doctor’s appointments.

If residents require emergency care while the department is closed, they are being told to call 9-1-1, or visit the emergency department at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. (311 Columbia Street).
