Kamloops sees increase in weekly COVID-19 cases, Merritt and Lillooet report zero

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops local health area (LHA) saw another increase in weekly COVID-19 cases.

According to the latest data from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), Kamloops saw 138 new COVID-19 cases between Dec. 5 and Dec. 11, up by 24 from the previous week. It’s still an average daily rate of 10.1 to 15 per 100,000 population.

The Cariboo regions saw notable increases, while Central Okanagan and Salmon Arm saw decreases. Merritt and Lillooet didn’t report a new case.

Here is a list of LHA totals in the Interior surrounding Kamloops:

  • Kamloops – 138 (up by 24 from last week)
  • Cariboo/Chilcotin – 90 (up by 20)
  • North Thompson – five 16 (down by 11)
  • 100 Mile House – four (down by eight)
  • South Cariboo – 23 (up by 20)
  • Lillooet – zero (down by one)
  • Merritt – zero (down by two)
  • Vernon – 46 (up by 17)
  • Armstrong-Spallumcheen – 13 (unchanged)
  • Enderby – five (up by one)
  • Salmon Arm – 25 (down by 21)
  • Revelstoke – zero (unchanged)
  • Central Okanagan (Kelowna) – 145 (down by 11)
