IIO BC investigating Revelstoke officer after snowmobiler injured in crash

REVELSTOKE, B.C. — BC RCMP notified the Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia (IIO BC) of an incident in Revelstoke that resulted in one man being taken to hospital.
RCMP say a Revelstoke officer saw a man with no helmet driving a snowmobile on Victoria Road Monday (Dec. 13) shortly after midnight.
The man reportedly sped away and turned onto a one-way street. RCMP say the officer followed and found the snowmobile that appeared to have collided with a parked commercial vehicle. The driver was found a short distance away with injuries. Emergency Health Services were called, and the man was taken to hospital.
IIO BC will investigate the incident and the actions of the police officer. No further information will be released by police.
