Numerous vehicles damaged in reported impaired driving chase: Kamloops RCMP
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say multiple vehicles were damaged following a report of an impaired driver on the North Shore Saturday (Dec. 4) afternoon.
Police say an officer patrolling Tranquille Road observed several people waving their hands and pointing down Campbell Avenue where a potentially impaired drive – in a blue SUV with multiple flat tires – was spotted.
“The officer tried to stop the vehicle, then block it from leaving as the suspect attempted to drive away,” Cst. Crystal Evelyn says. “While trying to flee, the suspect reversed into a second police vehicle approaching, causing significant damage to the cruiser’s front end.”
Officers removed a Kamloops man from the SUV after it was pinned was pinned. He was arrested and later released with a court date. RCMP say the man allegedly refused to provide a breath sample.
