KAMLOOPS β€” BC Interior Community Foundation announced it’s received $300,000 to create a disaster relief fund for communities in the Interior that were severely impacted by heat, wildfires, and flooding in 2021.

The foundation says more than $300,000 has already been committed by other members of our national network of Community Foundations, including $250,000 from the Calgary Foundation and $50,000 from the Vancouver Foundation.

The BC Interior Community Foundation is based in Kamloops, but it serves communities throughout the Thompson, Nicola, and South Cariboo regions. It says donations will be distributed in partnership with the Thompson-Nicola Regional District and in consultation with representatives of the affected communities.
