Vigil taking place at TRU campus on Polytechnique massacre anniversary

KAMLOOPS — Thompson Rivers University (TRU) Faculty Association’s Gender Equity Committee will host a vigil for the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

The vigil will take place on Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, 32 years after 14 women were murdered at Polytechnique Montreal.

Students, faculty, and community members will gather on TRU campus for a drop-in vigil, to honour those who have lost their lives to violence, and demand change to the misogyny still prevalent across university campuses and beyond.

The walk-by vigil takes place from noon to 2 p.m. in front of Old Main.
