KAMLOOPS – Kamloops RCMP were able to use a security camera video to solve a break and enter at a Valleyview area business November 25.

Mounties were called out to the business in the 2000 block of the East Trans Canada Highway shortly after 8 a.m. to investigate an overnight break-in. While reviewing the security video, they identified a suspect.

Police were able to track the suspect back to a motel, located about a block away from the business. Kamloops RCMP Constable Crystal Evelyn said, “When the suspect answered the door for police, the officers observed several dirt-bikes inside, including one they recognized to be stolen.”

At that point police arrested the suspect and obtained a search warrant. Inside the room they recovered approximately $20,000 of stolen property.
