KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops RCMP is hosting its Stuff the Cruiser holiday campaign on Saturday (Dec. 4).

After a COVID-19 pandemic hiatus, officers and volunteers will be stuffing a police cruiser with toys and gifts for Christmas Amalgamated.

The event will take place at Toys R Us on Notre Dame Drive on Saturday (Dec. 4) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Gifts including unwrapped toys, donations of cash, clothes — that sort of thing,” explained Constable Crystal Evelyn, Media Relations Officer at the Kamloops RCMP.

“So, if you have anything you can donate that’s new and unwrapped so that we know when the volunteers are sorting things, they know who to give it to and how to divide it and they don’t have to unwrap it. Things for children and youth. So preteens, teenagers, that sort of thing,” she said.

Additionally, on Sunday (Dec. 5), the City of Kamloops and BC Transit will host their ‘Stuff the Bus’ event at the Save-on-Foods Columbia Square location.

A city bus will be stuffed with non-perishable food or monetary donations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All donations will benefit the Kamloops Food Bank.

Both events are open to the public.
