KAMLOOPS — Sweeping a U.S. road trip has given the Kamloops Blazers another push up the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Top-10 rankings.

The Blazers are second in the Kia CHL Top-10 Rankings for Week Nine, moving up from third last week. Kamloops only trails the Winnipeg ICE in the Top-10 after having jumped the now third place Everett Silvertips. The Edmonton Oil Kings are fourth in the Top-10, giving the Western Hockey League (WHL) the top four spots.

Since last week’s rankings, the Blazers won all three of their games, defeating the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-1, the Portland Winterhawks 4-3, and the former top seed in the WHL Western Conference Everett Silvertips 3-2.

Exiting Week Nine, the Blazers are 17-2-0, good for 34 points in 19 games and first in the Western Conference. They’re third in the overall WHL standings, trailing Winnipeg for first, and Edmonton for second.

The Blazers visit the Vancouver Giants on Friday (Dec. 3) before hosting the Kelowna Rockets at Sandman Centre on Saturday (Dec. 4).

Saturday is when the Blazers will honour their former president and COO, the late Don Moores. It will be the first game where the Blazers will be allowed to welcome 100 per cent capacity.
