Ashcroft RCMP report rash of truck thefts in the community
ASHCROFT, B.C. — RCMP in Ashcroft are warning the community about a rash of truck thefts.
According to Cst. Richard Wright, Ashcroft Mounties have received five stolen vehicle reports during the month of November, two reports of attempted vehicle thefts and have recovered four stolen trucks.
Wright says two people have been identified and arrested in connection with the thefts, but charges have yet to be approved by the B.C. Prosecution Service. Neither is from the Ashcroft area and both are under strict court orders to stay away from Ashcroft and Cache Creek.
RCMP remind residents to lock their vehicles, remove all items of value overnight and report any suspicious activity to police.
