Williams Lake woman dies in hospital after crash last week near 108 Mile Ranch

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — RCMP say a Williams Lake woman involved in a crash near 108 Mile Ranch last week has died.

The crash took place last Thursday evening (Nov. 18) in the 4700-block of Highway 97. Witnesses reported a VW Jetta driving erratically and swerving before losing control, hitting the ditch and rolling.

Investigators are looking into alcohol impairment and road conditions as factors in the crash.

Witnesses believed the driver was deceased at the scene, but first responders were able to extract her, perform CPR and get a faint pulse. She was rushed to hospital in 100 Mile House before being transferred to Vancouver General Hospital.

100 Mile House RCMP say they were informed of the woman’s death in hospital Monday (Nov. 22).

She has been identified as a Williams Lake woman in her 30s.

The investigation is now in the hands of the B.C. Coroners Service, with support from 100 Mile House RCMP.
