Bodies of three men recovered from Highway 99 mudslide south of Lillooet

LILLOOET, B.C. — Lillooet RCMP confirmed that the bodies of three men have been recovered from the search at the mudslide near Duffy Lake Road.

In a news release Saturday (Nov. 20) morning, RCMP say the three men were amongst those who they considered missing from the Highway 99 mudslide south of Lillooet.

“We have been continuing the search for one more man, however search efforts have been hampered by weather and site conditions,” BC RCMP S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet states.

Chief Coroner Lisa Lapointe states one person was located deceased on Monday (Nov. 15), another on Wednesday (Nov. 17), and two on Thursday (Nov. 18). Efforts continued to locate a fifth person on Friday but were unsuccessful.
