Merritt RCMP trying to identify man seen walking into fast-flowing flood water

MERRITT, B.C. — RCMP in Merritt are trying to confirm the safety of a man seen walking into fast-flowing flood waters on the day the city was deluged.
On Monday (Nov. 15) at about 4:22 p.m., the man was spotted walking into flood water near Chapman Street, toward Merritt Secondary School. He eventually walked behind the school and was not seen again by the witness.
RCMP have released a dashcam image of the man, who was wearing a black hoodie and tan jacket at the time.
“We are trying to identify this man and confirm that he is safe,” said Cst. Jon Puterbough. “If you know this person or this is you, please contact the Merritt RCMP at (250) 378-4262.”
