KAMLOOPS — The Royal Inland Hospital Foundation’s fundraising campaign has been given a $60,000 boost by a local engineering company.

Exceed Electrical Engineering $60,000 gift for the Together We Rise campaign was announced Thursday (Nov. 18) in a release from the RIH Foundation.

“We at Exceed are honoured to be giving back to the community in which we work and live,” states Exceed Project Engineer Joshua Laye.

“Whether it is here in Kamloops where we are located or out in the communities we serve, there is no greater gift than that of helping others.”

Exceed is based in Kamloops and has committed to give 10 per cent of their revenues back to the community. The company says this donation to the hospital foundation is an example of acting on that promise.

“We follow in the footsteps of so many other great businesses in Kamloops that consistently give back to our city and we hope that we can encourage other small companies to do the same,” says Laye. “Every little bit helps and surrounding ourselves with good people, we will likely strive to be good people. If we have a business community in Kamloops that is generous and gives back, we are likely to be individually generous and want to give back as well.”

Together We Rise was started to raise $33 million for much-needed equipment and supports for the under-construction Phil & Jennie Gaglardi Tower.

The new patient care tower will be equipped with single patient rooms, child and youth mental health services, maternity services, respiratory therapy services, surgical suites, a mental health and substance use inpatient unit and a rooftop helipad.
