TNRD issues evacuation orders to 37 properties south of Spences Bridge

SPENCES BRIDGE — The Thompson Nicola Regional District has issued flooding evacuation orders to 37 properties in Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country).

The district says a flooding event in the area is now threatening structures, and the safety of people who reside in the area.

In the evacuation order posted on November 16, the TNRD says everyone at the following 37 addressed properties needs to evacuate immediately:

• 4900 to 5240 Dot Ranch Cut-Off Rd

• 4141 FX Ranch Rd

It’s recommended that evacuees try to find friends or family to stay with, and then access meals and other Emergency Support Services by reporting to the nearest reception centre. People who cannot stay with friends or family are asked to report to the ESS Reception Centre in Kelowna (1800 Parkinson Way).

Evacuees can register ahead of time online using this link, or by calling the ESS info line at 1-800-585-9559. However to receive services, registrants still need to report to a reception centre.
