Barriere emergency department closed for Friday due to limited staffing

BARRIERE — Barriere and area residents are advised that the emergency department at Barriere Health Centre is closed Friday (Nov. 12) due to limited staffing availability.

Interior Health says anyone that requires emergency care should call 9-1-1. Alternate emergency services are available at Royal Inland Hospital at 311 Columbia St. in Kamloops.

Interior Health says Barriere Health Centre remains open for other services, including booked physician appointments. The emergency department is anticipated to re-open Monday (Nov. 15).

Normal emergency department hours in Barriere are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
