KAMLOOPS – Interior Health has announced temporary visitor restrictions are now in place at Royal Inland Hospital.

In a news release, Interior Health says effective Wednesday (Nov. 10), only essential visitors will be able to attend the hospital site due to COVID-19 activity at the facility.

Essential visitors include:

  • Visits for compassionate care, including critical illness, palliative care, hospice care, end-of-life and medical assistance in dying
  • Visits to patients in the emergency department or intensive care unit
  • Visits for pediatric care, labour, and delivery
  • Visits necessary to support a patient’s physical care (assistance with feeding or mobility), mental well-being, or decision-making.

The announcement comes after Interior Health declared COVID-19 outbreaks for Unit 5 South on Nov. 2 and 7 North on Tuesday (Nov. 9). Interior Health didn’t announce how long the updated measures would be in place for.

All services continue to be available at Royal Inland Hospital.
