Kamloops Fire Rescue spends overnight hours dousing smouldering fire at Cinnamon Ridge Compost Facility
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue personnel and City of Kamloops staff spent the bulk of the night at the City’s Cinammon Ridge Compost Facility after a fire broke out in a large pile of hog fuel.
KFR’s Platoon Captain Wade Lindoff told CFJC Today the fire ignited in material destined for the Domtar pulp mill.
The smouldering blaze eventually grew to encompass a large strip, approximately 300 feet by 25 feet.
Lindoff says the five-hour operation involved two water tenders shuttling water from near the Kamloops Golf and Country Club to an engine at the fire site.
