Elderly driver seriously injured in Tuesday night crash with semi near Savona

SAVONA, B.C. — RCMP are investigating a serious crash near Savona Tuesday night (Nov. 9).

According to RCMP, the crash took place on the Trans Canada Highway near Tunkwa Lake Road at about 10:20 p.m.

A passenger vehicle crossed the centre line and drove into the path of an oncoming commercial semi.

The collision resulted in serious injuries to the passenger vehicle’s driver, a woman in her 70s. RCMP say she is expected to survive.
