KAMLOOPS — Corryn Brown has to win on Friday night (Nov. 5) if she wants to make the playoffs at the Boost National Grand Slam of Curling event.

Brown’s Kamloops rink plays Laura Walker at 7 p.m. with the winner advancing the playoffs and the loser out of the tournament.

Brown dropped to the ‘C’ event with an 8-4 loss to defending Olympic gold medallist Anna Hasselborg and her team from Sweden. The teams traded deuces in the second and third ends before Brown opened the door for Hasselborg to steal four to make it a 7-2 game after the fifth. Brown got two back in the sixth, but it’s the closest she got to the Swedes.

The Boost National is a triple knockout event. There is $150,000 of prize money available for both the men and women’s teams.
