B.C. adds 549 COVID-19 cases; Kamloops outbreaks grow

KAMLOOPS — B.C. is ending the work week with another 549 cases of COVID-19, including 110 within Interior Health.

The figures are contained in a new updated provided by the province’s Ministry of Health.

The active caseload is at 4,483 in B.C. Friday (Nov. 5), up slightly from Thursday. There are 686 active cases within IH (up by 20).

A total of 441 people are in hospital with COVID-19, including 129 in intensive care.

One more death has been attributed to the virus, raising the B.C. death toll to 2,201.

Meantime, the COVID-19 outbreak at Royal Inland Hospital’s 5 South has grown to 23 cases — 18 patients and five staff. And the outbreak at Brocklehurst Gemstone Care Centre is now up to four cases — three residents and one staff.

There are a total of 37 healthcare facility outbreaks in B.C.
