Nanaimo teen sentenced for high profile Long Lake beating
NANAIMO — A youth captured on video beating up another teenager was sentenced to youth custody followed by a lengthy supervision order
The boy, 16, who can’t be named under the Youth Justice Act, was sentenced last month for attacking a 15-year-old boy, who was told after to strip naked and walk home following a Friday, April 9 incident at Long Lake.
The offender was handed nine months in youth custody on Oct. 13, followed by an 18 month intensive support and supervision order after he pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm and robbery, according to the BC Prosecution Service
He was credited for nine months of pre-trial custody and is now being supervised by a youth probation officer for the next year and a half.
