MP Caputo calls on Ottawa to restore clean drinking water to Whispering Pines-Clinton reserve

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo MP Frank Caputo is urging the Trudeau government to take action on poor drinking water at a local First Nations reserve.
Caputo has penned a letter to Indigenous Services Minister Patty Hajdu about the plight of the Whispering Pines-Clinton Indian Band. The MP says the band’s reserve is back to being subject to a boil water advisory.
Caputo notes the reserve is far from remote, situated just north of Kamloops and adjacent to a major highway.
“I expect that the government will have a clear plan of action including specific timelines,” writes Caputo. “There is absolutely no excuse for this community to be facing continuous boil water advisories in 2021.”
