Kamloops Blazers show no mercy on Winterhawks
KAMLOOPS – The Kamloops Blazers erupted with four first-period goals and posted a 7 – 1 victory over the visiting Portland Winterhawks Tuesday (Nov. 3) at the Sandman Centre.
Logan Stankoven led the assault with three goals and two assists. Josh Pillar had two goals and three assists while Dylan Garand stopped 27 of 28 Portland shots.
A sellout crowd of 2,957 took in the first game between Canadian and American based teams since the border was closed when pandemic struck in the spring of 2020.
The Blazers have won 9 of their first ten games and top the BC Division with 18 points while the Winterhawks dropped to 4 – 6 – 0 – 1.
