Heavy rain expected to follow morning snowfall on Coquihalla, Okanagan Connector

MERRITT — Drivers are being reminded of special weather statements still in effect for sections of the Coquihalla Highway, and Okanagan Connector today (Oct. 28).
Environment Canada says 10 to 15 cm of snow is expected to fall this morning between Merritt and Kelowna on the Connector, and the Hope to Merritt stretch of the Coq.
Heavy rainfall will follow this afternoon, with the Hope to Merritt section of Highway 5 expected to receive 30 to 50 mm of precipitation.
Road conditions are available on drivebc.ca, and motorists are urged to take extra precautions before heading out on the highways.
