B.C. closes the work week with 649 new COVID-19 cases, 13 more deaths

VICTORIA — B.C.’s active COVID-19 case count rose above 5,000 once again Friday (Oct. 22).

New totals released by the province’s health ministry show 649 new cases in the province Friday, with an active caseload of 5,106.

Eighty-eight of the new cases were found in Interior Health. There are 778 active cases in the region.

The ministry reports 365 people in hospital with COVID-19 province-wide, including 143 in intensive care.
