Kamloops RCMP investigating theft of cultural items

KAMLOOPS – RCMP are asking for help to locate a series of distinctive cultural items taken during a break-in this week.

Mounties say the items included First Nation influenced animal puppets, a basket, a hatchet, and colourful blankets. Modern snowshoes were also taken.

The items were in a storage container in the 200 block of Kitchener Crescent.

“If anyone took these items, or knows who did, please do the right thing and return them to the place they were stolen from, or contact police,” said Constable Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

It’s believed the theft occurred btween 6 p.m. Oct. 19 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 20.
