Ken Olynyk returns to TRU as interim head coach.

KAMLOOPS — Ken Olynyk is back with Thompson Rivers University.

The former WolfPack Athletic Director is taking over as the interim head coach of the women’s basketball program.

He replaces Goran Nogic, who was hired prior to the 2019-20 season.

Current Athletic Director Curtis Atkinson offered no comment on the reason for Nogic’s departure.

The WolfPack had played four pre season games, losing all four — 73-44 to Lethbridge, 78-73 and 91-44 to Calgary and 70-55 against Manitoba.

Olynyk has a long history of coaching at the USPORTS level — spending 25 years as a head coaching, including one previous season with the WolfPack women’s team in 2005-06.

After wrapping up their non-conference slate, Olynyk and the WolfPack will start their 16th USPORTS season when they host the UNBC Timberwolves October 29.
