Interior Health alerts Kamloops drug users to tainted speed

KAMLOOPS — Interior Health has issued a drug alert for a substance being sold as speed in Kamloops.

IH says the substance appears as white or colourless crystals, spotted purple or black.

Testing has confirmed the contents include fentanyl and/or its analogs, as well as methamphetamine.

Users run a high risk of overdose if they use the substance.

The alert is in effect for one week, until October 21.
