Playground opens

McArthur Island playground opens for long weekend

KAMLOOPS – A new playground is open just in time for the Thanksgiving Day long weekend in Kamloops.

The playground is located at the west end of McArthur Island Park, just behind the minigolf.

The park will feature playground staples such as swings, slides and climbing areas. In addition, all of the features are accessable. A picnic area with covered gazebos, upgrades to pathways, and a disc golf practice area are located nearby.

To celebrate the opening of the playground, residents are being asked to share photos of the park on social media, using the hashtag #mymacpark.

The City will award four prizes to photos posted by October 24, including a family set of minigolf clubs.
