KAMLOOPS – Kamloops Airport is reporting a slow but positive growth trend in passenger numbers through the third quarter of 2021.
In a news release, the facility is reporting a 102 per cent increase in passengers flying through the airport during the third quarter months of July, August and September 2021, when compared to the same time period in 2020.
However when statistics for the first nine months of 2021 are compared to the same time period in 2020, passenger numbers are down nearly 58 per cent. COVID-19 restrictions kicked in during March 2020.
According to Kamloops Airport, the slow increase in travel is being fed by air service increases by WestJet, Air Canada, Pacific Coastal and Central Mountain Air.
