Heavy police presence on Victoria St. W. in front of Emerald House

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP were called to assist the Canadian Pacific Rail police in an incident involving a report of a man with a weapon.

The incident occurred on Victoria St. W. near the Emerald House around 12:00 noon Thursday (Oct. 7).

About 12 cruisers were on scene. One Kamloops man was taken into custody following what RCMP describe as a ‘high-risk’ takedown..

Kamloops RCMP media relations officer, Cst. Crystal Evelyn, told CFJC News the incident is still under investigation.
