KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo MP-elect is expecting to sit in the House of Commons for the first time after Remembrance Day.

Frank Caputo of the Conservative Party of Canada believes Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is committed to having the newly formed federal government sit for the first time before winter. Caputo says he has spent time in Ottawa ahead of the first sitting.

“I’ve had a number of meetings. People have been extremely welcoming and encouraging,” Caputo says. “Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo has wonderful people and they’ve proven it to me in my meetings and in their encouragement. I took part in orientation last week and I have a further orientation this week, as well as my first caucus meeting.”

Caputo is unsure of how much time the House of Commons will spend discussing in person or virtually as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
