Twelve-year-old BMX racer raises $8k for children battling leukemia
KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops BMX racer has raised nearly $8,000 for children fighting leukemia at the BC Children’s Hospital.
Twelve-year-old Jacobus Arnold has been gathering bottles with his mother and grandmother since the beginning of the year and bringing them to the bottle depot.
Arnold normally raises the money as part of a BMX competition he enters every year. Because of COVID-19, competitions have been put to a halt — but that didn’t stop him from making a contribution this year.
