Suspected fentanyl dealers nabbed at Kamloops gas station

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP nabbed a pair of suspected fentanyl traffickers early Wednesday morning (Sept. 22).

In a news release, spokesperson Cst. Crystal Evelyn says the bust went down at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, at a gas station on Versatile Drive.

The detachment’s Targeted Enforcement Unit (TEU) arrested a man and a woman, seizing 365 grams of suspected fentanyl, smaller amounts of suspected crack, methamphetamine and cocaine, and a stack of cash. RCMP also seized a vehicle.

The woman was held in custody, as she was wanted on an unendorsed warrant.

The man was released pending further investigation, and Evelyn says RCMP are “often required to release those arrested and continue their investigation before applying for charge approval” from Crown counsel.
