Merritt mayor thanks local health care workers and encourages vaccination
MERRITT, B.C. — At the conclusion of Tuesday’s (Sept. 21) council meeting, Mayor Linda Brown took a minute to thank health care workers and encourage citizens to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
“I want to say thank you to our health care workers and our front-line workers who have given it their all throughout this COVID season,” began Brown. “This includes the restaurant and retail workers as well.”
“They had to struggle over the past year and a half, I cant imagine how tired people are, and there is still no end in sight,” added Brown. “I want you to know that on behalf of Council and the City we appreciate you all, thank you for all that you’ve done and for all that you have gone through. I would like to encourage everyone to get vaccinated, unless they have a medical reason not to.”
“It is through living and working together that we become stronger as a community. Our strength is in our community, we’re stronger together, well done everyone,” concluded Brown.
