Eleven more COVID-19 deaths in B.C.; 768 new cases

VICTORIA — It has been another deadly day in B.C.’s fight against COVID-19.

The provincial health ministry is reporting 11 more deaths from the virus Friday (Sept. 17), including five in Interior Health. The overall death toll in B.C. is now 1,888.

The ministry is reporting 768 more cases of COVID-19 Friday, with 183 in IH. There are now 6,031 active cases in B.C. The Interior Health total is down slightly to 1,499.

There are 298 people in hospital, with 135 in intensive care.

Twenty healthcare facilities in B.C. have COVID-19 outbreaks, including Kamloops Seniors Village, The Hamlets at Westsyde and Hillside Village in Salmon Arm.
