TNRD rescinds final wildfire evacuation order and alert

KAMLOOPS — The final evacuation alert and order within the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) due to this year’s wildfire season has been rescinded.
The TNRD gave the all clear on Tuesday (Sept. 7) for areas around Westwold that were impacted by the White Rock Lake wildfire. This comes one day after 133 properties near Kingsvale and Brookmere were given the all clear from the July Mountain wildfire.
According to the TNRD’s evacuation status dashboard, the only active evacuation orders and alerts in its boundaries are from the Village of Lytton and numerous First Nations. Some evacuation orders and alerts issued by the Regional District of North Okanagan on the outskirts of the TNRD’s boundaries are still active due to the White Rock Lake wildfire.
