Sparks Lake Alerts Lifted

TNRD lifts final evacuation alerts related to Sparks Lake wildfire

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District’s (TNRD) remaining evacuation alerts in response to the Sparks Lake wildfire have been rescinded to all clear.

As of Aug. 31, the following 19 properties north of Tranquille Valley are no longer on alert:

• 5160 and 5450 Bonaparte Lake
• 7888 to 9593 Clinton-Upper Loon Lake FSR
• 9425 Deadman-Vidette Rd.
• 3050 to 5040 Eagan-Bonaparte Lake FSR
• 4010 and 4360 Jamieson-Spruce Grove FSR
• 5200 Secret Lake
• any other properties within the boundary noted on the attached map
  (Thompson-Nicola Regional District).

The move comes five days after BC Wildfire Service said the Sparks Lake wildfire was “being held.”

Should conditions change, the TNRD said an evacuation order could be reinstated as necessary.

TNRD residents can track active evacuation alerts and orders here.

However, while there are no TNRD evacuation alerts or orders remaining, the Skeetchestn Indian Band’s evacuation alert remains in effect.
