Kamloops residents asked to keep bins off streets after two bear sightings

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP reported sightings of bears in the 500-block of Columbia Street West and Hillside Drive areas Saturday (Aug. 28) evening.

Residents are asked to keep their distance, ensure they clear their property of any rotting fruit, and to refrain from putting out their garbage cans prior to 4 a.m. on pickup day, in accordance with Kamloops By-Law.

Kamloops has had at least two other bear sightings of note in August: one in the North Shore and another near the Aberdeen-Pineview Valley area.
