Potential COVID outbreak at Kamloops Seniors’ Village
KAMLOOPS — Management at Kamloops Seniors’ Village are waiting for direction from the Health Authority following a couple of positive tests for COVID at the facility in recent days.
In a news release Wednesday night (August 25th), Retirement Concepts says all residents on the 1-C Complex Care Neighbourhood as well as two unvaccinated residents in the 1-B neighbourhood were tested. Three tests in 1-C came back positive, two of which were asymptomatic.
The facility has started protocol for an outbreak, and are isolating residents and staff in the 1-C Neighbourhood.
They are now waiting for further word from the Medical Health Officer and the Health Authority, who are the only ones who can officially declare an outbreak. In the meantime, recreational activities and social visits on the 1-C neighbourhood have been cancelled until further notice.
