Abandoned crash scene has Kamloops RCMP looking for witnesses

KAMLOOPS — RCMP are looking for witnesses to a mysterious crash in downtown Kamloops early Monday morning (Aug. 16).

In a news release, spokesperson Cst. Crystal Evelyn says it happened at the intersection of Third Avenue and Victoria Street. Police were called to the scene at 2:20 a.m.

Once there, officers found two unoccupied vehicles that had suffered damage — a parked van that had been hit by a white GMC Terrain. Both vehicles were locked but their airbags had been set off.

While investigators spoke to the van’s owner, the driver of the Terrain SUV was not found.
