KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 438 calls for service from midnight Friday Aug. 13, to 9:00 a.m. on Monday Aug. 16. Below are some highlights from those calls.

Alleged dragging near Hillside Cemetery

A live security feed reportedly showed a man dragging a woman around Hillside Cemetery just after midnight on Friday.

RCMP say they located two intoxicated people. They said the woman was uncooperative, but police checks confirmed the man was breaching a no-contact order.

The man was arrested and lodged in cells to sober up safely, then released with a court date.

Break-in attempt while residents still inside

Two people reportedly attempted to break into a home in the 300-block of Poplar Street Friday afternoon, while the residents were still inside.

RCMP say those inside the home reported hearing a loud bang, then saw two people leaving southbound after realizing the house was occupied.

One of the suspects was wearing black shorts.

Man arrested after allegedly breaking into Tranquille business

Police say they arrived to find glass broken and items stolen from inside a business on the 300-block of Tranquille road early Saturday morning.

RCMP collected evidence, viewed surveillance, and spoke with those in the area, which led to a suspect being identified and later arrested.

The man was lodged in cells, then released with a court date, pending the investigation’s conclusion and charge assessment.

Anyone who has information on any of these cases is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000.
