Homicide investigation near Sheridan Lake, 100 Mile House RCMP says there’s no threat to the public
100 MILE HOUSE B.C. — A reported sudden death of a 69-year-old man near Sheridan Lake has turned into a homicide investigation.
100 Mile House RCMP and the BC Coroners Services attended the report on Friday (Aug. 6) and their investigation revealed concerns around the death. B.C. RCMP North District Major Crime Unit has since taken conduct of the investigation.
“At this stage in the investigation this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public,” 100 Mile House RCMP Detachment Commander S/Sgt. Svend Nielsen says. “Members of the 100 Mile House Detachment will remain at the rural scene for the next few days as the investigation progresses.”
RCMP say the BC Coroners Service is also conducting a concurrent fact-finding investigation into the unexpected death. Under the Coroners Act, the deceased’s name will not be released due to privacy.
