Province reports 187 new COVID-19 cases within Interior Health region
VICTORIA — The province is reporting 395 new cases of COVID-19 around B.C today, with nearly half of the new cases identified in Interior Health (IH).
In today’s update (Aug. 10), the B.C. Government says 187 of new cases were found in IH. Of the 3,284 active cases around the province, 1,893 are in the IH region.
Currently, there are 71 people in hospital around B.C., and 23 in intensive care. No new deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.
On the vaccination front, the province says 82.1 per cent (3,805,781) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 70.6 per cent (3,274,116) received their second dose.
